Hello. I have a little question about my temp readings from speedfan

As you may see, i have a temp 1,2 and 3. after some research i have found that temp1 is CPU, temp2 is motherboard and 3 is probably not used, although it displays a rather curious value ;)

I now wonder what the core temp is? isn't that a cpu temp? ind if so which should i trust? because temp 1 and core shows completely different values!

    /Johan

    PS: I have a ASUS M3A78 Board

    OK

Temp 1 (CPU Temp) is detected by a small temperature sensor just underneath the metal casting around the CPU.

Core Temp is detected by a small temperature sensor inside the CPU die itself. These are often a lot more unreliable in cases that I have seen.
