I was wondering if you have a Mobo that supports Dual ChannelÂ….would performance be better with 2-1 GB sticks in Dual Channel mode or would you get better performance out of 3-1 GB sticks in single channel mode? I was reading online to see if I could find something that might tell me if the dual channel 2GB would be equal or possibly better than 3 GB non dual channel. If you had a 3rd stick laying around rated at the same speed/capacity as the other 2 sticks would it just be better to slap it in there and have the mobo revert to single channel or leave it out? Let me know what you all think.

2x1GB would be much better. with the dual channel, you are doubling your bandwidth for ram, and i don't know of any programs that even uses 3gb of ram (maybe some rendering program but not many).
