Solved: Ram Upgrade Windows XP doesn't Recognize Any Usb

    i just upgraded my dell dimension e310 with a 2gb 1gb*2 set and my bios works fine it recognized ram upgrade and keyboard works on it and i can boot to knoppix from usb flash drive and usb keyboard and mouse works from there i have tried safe mode and with command prompt even plugging in device while loading drivers and still nothing
    i also have my windows xp cd and two product keys and i have another clean installation on another partition and it wont recognize anything either

    While installing the RAM, a connection may have come loose to the USD device ports. You may want to check the wiring to these ports.

    wll it work fine in the bootable KNOPPIX Linux OS
    i just dont feel like cracking it open again

    If there are Usb ports on the back are they working or not ?

    yes i solved it with an xp cd repair and chkdsk /r at recovery console ty :)

    all ports are working properly the tech guys at school also told me it could be missing .cab files but thats the solution no hardware problems
