    HI PEepS
    HOPE SOMEONE OUT theRe can help me with tHis>
    dELl inspiron 1£))
    "2 gb ram
    "2%) gb hard drive
    xp home service pack £
    the above is an example of my caps lock problem>it comes in and out seemigly at random but seEms most a problem with numbers
    passwords and stuff im typing thatS hidden and needs to be repeataBle is a nightmare
    please help>

    More than likely your keyboard is defective.

    Yeah, I think that 'srhoardes' is correct, and the keyboard is duff.
    Make sure of this though:
    (1) Plug-in, and try out a different keyboard. Do you still have the problem?
    or
    (2) Plug-in the keyboard into a different computer. Do you still have the problem?

    Sounds more like one of the shift keys is sticking on, rather than Caps Lock.
    Next time it happens, press one of the Shift keys and quickly release it. Or use a toothpick and gently lift up the Shift key slightly, see if you can pin it down to one or the other.

    Could be the membrane that holds the keys up has gotten worn, or something got spilt on the keyboard at some point. Probably easier to replace it than try to repair it. On some laptops the keyboard assembly is riveted together, so you can't take it apart to clean them.

    ta peeps
    left hand shift key seems to be sticking..........
    distantly i remember a glass of red wine heading that way one friday night
    (maybe 2 3 years ago now)

    i guess that maybe some ting to do with it?

    at least now i know what key it is i can play with it to get what
    i want.you can see the change in my text
    ta tech support guys
    anyone know about fitting keyboards to dell inspiron 1300?
