    Hi Troops,

    Running into a strange one:

    Win98 1st Ed.
    96 Megs RAM
    old Motherboard

    very, very slow.

I see in "Performance" that this puppy is using real mode
drivers that slow down everything. The "Real Mode"
message is there on top of the list, and Drive C, D, and
E are all running in it too.

So how do I change these settings to use Virtual
Mode ? I've put some things in high memory, but
    the problem persists. TIA,

    bonz

You might try reinstalling the motherboard drivers.

    Hi Aca,

I tried to do that, but they want to charge ya for
the update - and I'm too cheap ").

This 'puter BIOS is 1995, and I couldn't find an update
that was free. Maybe upgrading to 98SE ??

Yeppers, it was the "NOIDE" prob. Thanks ACA and Dan.

(Dan may pick up his prize by sending cash or money
