I just purchased a Dell Inspiron 17R-5720. Among many problems getting going is the inability to make a recovery media. When I use DVD's it keeps rejecting them when it is ready to write on them.. I have been using DVD +R 4X. I note the msgs say you can't use rewritable DVD's. Is that the problem and if so what spec dvd do I use? I think the drive is 8X. I also tried using an 8gb flash drive. Here it says insert an 8gb flash drive??? Maybe the actual available space on the drive is too small? I am using windows 7.

I have the same problem on my DEll 8300 desktop..

Thanks for any suggestions. I haven't sought Dell help yet as they are so slow!
