On accident, I deleted my Recycle bin on the desktop. I know this is supposed to be a protected file, so hopefully I didn't delete it for good. I have tried many different ways to retreive it,but have had no success. I put a shortcut on my desktop, but, the icon shows either empty all the time or full all the time. (even if I choose both empty and full defalt icons from the control panel).
If I type C:Recycled at the run command, the "Recycled" folder pops up. Now, how do I get the icon back onto the desktop?

Do you have TweakUI? If so, go to start, settings, control panel, open TweakUI, go to desktop and place a check mark in the recycle icon.

    Try this:

    Delete your newly made shortcut.

    Now download the attached Recycled.txt.
Save as (rename to) Recycle.reg, doubleclick, and choose 'yes'.

Reboot, and your Recycle Bin should be back.

    Good luck,

Thanks for explaining how to install Tweak UI. I have tried to install this before but never had such simple instruction. Thanks. I did what you said and it worked. Thanks for helping me get my recycle bin back. I can't believe it was so simple :)
