I seem to have a few problems browseing the interent! I have just logged on to my home page and it keeps refreshing! i can log into messanger but cannot log into hotmail and when i logged into this site it kept on refrsing and taking me back to the log in. Please please help me:confused: :confused: :confused:

Hi, Do you have an installed temp file cleaner program?

If not, try this first one if you use Windows XP otherwise try the second....

Download ATFCleaner by Atribune & save it to your desktop. DO NOT use it yet. We will use it in Safe Mode, later
As you probably know, deleting Cookies can result in you having to type in your username and passwords at ALL sites that use logins, like this site does, so if you willy nilly delete cookies, which is safe enough to do, you will have to re-establish these cookies and login the first time you visit any site like that.
ATF Cleaner has a way to save those cookies you would like to keep but it will require some time. If you DO KNOW or have saved all your Passwords and login usernames you can delete all cookies.

* Restart your computer into safe mode now.To get into the Windows 2000 / XP Safe mode, as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key" which should bring up the "Windows Advanced Options Menu"
Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.

Next, start up ATFCleaner:

  • Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
    Under Main choose: Select All
    Click the Empty Selected button.
If you use Firefox browser
  • Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
    Click the Empty Selected button.
    NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
If you use Opera browser
  • Click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
    Click the Empty Selected button.
    NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
Restart the computer.

Download Cleanup from here

  • Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
  • Click the Options... button on the right.
  • Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
  • Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):
    • Empty Recycle Bins
    • Delete Cookies
    • Cleanup! All Users
    Click OK
  • DO NOT RUN IT YET

Now boot to safe mode.


Run Cleanup:
  • Click on the "Cleanup" button and let it run.
  • Once its done, close the program.


Use either program, but don't need both.

After that, if you still see the same problem:


go to Click here to download HJTsetup.exe
  • Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.
  • Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
  • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
  • Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Additional Tasks dialogue.
  • Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
  • Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
  • At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
  • Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button. It will scan and then save the log and then the log will open in Notepad.
  • Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
  • Paste the log in your next reply.
  • DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

Hi, I don't see any fixing to do with the HJT log, so let's try this:

Open Hijack This and click on the Config button then on "Open the Misc Tools section" button. Click on the "Open Uninstall Manager" button. Click the "Save List" button. Copy and paste that list into your reply please.


Your host file may be damaged. To repair it download Download the [url=http://www.fu...Xpert.zip]HostsXpert 3.7 - Hosts File Manager.
  • Unzip HostsXpert 3.7 - Hosts File Manager to a convenient folder such as C:\HostsXpert 3.7 - Hosts File Manager
  • Run HostsXpert 3.7 - Hosts File Manager from its new home
  • Click "Make Hosts Writable?" in the upper right corner (If available).
  • Click Restore Original Hosts and then click OK.
  • Click the X to exit the program.
  • Note: If you were using a custom Hosts file you will need to replace any of those entries yourself.

Hi, Since you didn't say anything I assume you still have the same issue- and I do not see anything I recognize as one that would cause your trouble.
So, I also assume you tried the HOSTS file replacement in the utility I posted and it did not help....

Let's see the results of an online scan-hopefully you can use the site, since it does not use a login, just an Active X component you have to get first if you've not done this scan before:

HERE to run Panda's ActiveScan
  • Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC button
  • A new window will open...click the Check Now button
  • Enter your Country
  • Enter your State/Province
  • Enter your e-mail address and click send
  • Select either Home User or Company
  • Click the big Scan Now button
  • If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
  • It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a couple of minutes)
  • When download is complete, click on My Computer to start the scan
  • When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location. Post the contents of the ActiveScan report

Just to let you know i have sorted the problem! My privacy setting on my antivirus were blocking all my passwords
