Dear friends:

[Using Win XP]

How to do your permanently remove entries from the Google search box? Not just delete them but remove them for good. You can remove the History and Cache and autocomplete and cookies from Internet Options in IE, but how do you remove the search entries from Google or elsewhere. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the Google bar (in both IE and Netscape), but that didn't have any effect. Where are the controls for these personal items. I'd imagine that if you are working for a corporation and sharing computers with others that you would want to protect your privacy. Anybody know?

Thank you in advance.

Unfortunately I do not know the answer, but what I would do is click on Start > Search and see if I could find the Google logs somewhere. Trouble is I don't know their names. Maybe someone else does, or you could contact the folks at Google? Not much help, huh?

Dear BillC:

Thanks so much for trying. I have written to Google. Hope they have the answer.

Thanks again.

Click the arrow right next to the Google logo on the toolbar, and hit "Clear Search History".

Cheers,

That deletes the entries from the toolbar, I also have that nifty toolbar. How do you delete the entries from the Google homepage? It still has the previous entries in an autofill mode.
