Believe it or not, the video software SONY included with my new SONY camcorder is NOT compatable with the CD/DVD Writer in my new SONY VAIO!!! But when I try to uninstall it through "Add/Remove Programs" I get "InstallShield (R) Setup Launcher has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something, the info you were working on might be lost".

How do I get rid of this thing??(n)

    Hiya

Can't link you to the page, as it was a Popup, but have you got these:

    http://www.sony.net/enjoy-photo-movie/handycam/features/pp05_en/index.html#blc5

    Under FAQ at the bottom.

As you'll be using the standard 12cm disks, do you have any software, eg Nero?

    Regards

I think you replied to the wrong message. I just want to uninstall the thing. I use Roxio when I copy to disk.

Sorry about the late reply, some family problems have made it difficult to be here :(

See if running the Windows Installer Cleanup utility works.

Go here to download it. If you run this utility it will list all the programs installed in your system. Select the program you want to remove and then press remove buuton.

Thanks for the reply. What I did was re-install Picture Package, then used "Add/Remove Programs" and all went fine. But I'll keep the url in case I need it in the future. Hope all is better with the family.
