    Hi

    I have three hard drive C, D & E.

D & E's icons are fine, but my C drive icon is not the normal icon for a Local Hisk icon.

How do i get it back?

    Thanks

This may or may not help but it's worth a try and has some features that will let you customize some things .. like removing the little arrow on your desktop shortcuts.. Anyway, go here http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
and download tweakui (it's about half way down on the right). After installing it has a place that you can 'rebuild icons'.

If you are ok with using regedit, navigate to this registry key.. HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell
Check to see that the value data says none. If not change it and re-boot.

If that doesn't work then you can try checking to see if the autorun.inf file has been changed or moved. Or.... you can try this neat little utility and have some fun with icons.

This article Change Hard Drive Icon offers two options. I've never tried the top one. The bottom paragraph involves editing the Registry. Make sure you back up your Registry before making any changes.

Thats great! Editing the registry from that article worked great.

    Many Thanks!
