I wish to remove icons from my taskbar. The only option I could find was to hide them. I don't want to uninstall program, I just don't need nor want the progams icon in the taskbar. I presently have the icond I do not want hidden. Thanks for your help.

When you say taskbar, do you mean your quicklaunch located on the lower left corner next to the start button or the icons on the lower right next to the time? (This layout is typical with Windows OS's, and I'm assuming that's what you're using).

Thankyou for replying so fast after I posted my first problem on this site, within 5 minutes.
The answer to your question, I am talking about the icons on the right side of the taskbar and the ones I want to delete are hidden. I can only find the option show and
    hide, no delete.
    Thanks buddy

What icons are they? Usually the ones that are hidden, start when you boot up your computer.

You might be able to remove the icons the following way, though I don't think it will be a permanent fix.
Right-click the taskbar, click Task Manager, click the Processes Tab, and end the processes that you wish to get rid of.

Do you want the icons removed and the program still run, or do you want the program NOT to be started on start up?

Removing the icons will NOT stop the program from being started. The best thing is to the check the Options of these different programs and see if there is a choice of them being started or not on system start up. Most programs do have a option to be turned on of off.

    Hello.
I WENT TO ENDTASK, FOUND THE PROGRAMS IN QUESTION, ENDED TASK FOR EACH THAT I WANTED DELETED FROM THE TASKBAR.

I THEN WAS ABLE TO DELETE THE SHORTCUT ICONS. i THOUGHT, GREAT, PROBLEM SOLVED. I REBOOTED MY COMPUTER, AND FOUND THE ICONS ARE BACK.

ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS, THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.

Like I said, I didn't think it would be a permanent fix. As far as I know now, the only way to get rid of the icons is to disable them on start up. You can do this by removing the check mark next to the programs in question under the "Startup" tab in msconfig. (Start-> Run-> "msconfig")

There should be a button on the top of the thread that says "SOLVED" or something like that.
