Solved: Samsung CDR-CDRW Drive

    I have a samsung sw-248f cdr-cdrw drive it opens by itself can someone tell me how to fix this

    Operating System
    A more detailed description of what is going on when this happens
    How often -- have you noticed it to be...every 5mins or something like that
    When you first noticed the problem

    I'm running windows xp service pack 2
    the cd tray opens when i first turn my computer but it dont do this all the time
    it mostly opens after windows loads i dont have to be doing anything for it to open
    it opens atleast 3 or 4 times a day . the burner reads and writes to cd's like it should

    Do you get any sort of message that say's "If your CD Rom opens up, you've got spyware"?

    Also, have you updated the drivers for your CD Drive?

    I dont get any messages and i checked for driver updates it said there is no new updates i scanned for spyware . would it be possible that i have a bad or loose ide cable going to the drive

    Its possible....I'm not sure how that would give it the signal to open.

    If it does it when you first boot the computer...that would suggest a listing in the startup folder...or registry. Does it still happen when you boot into safe-mode?

    i think i got it fixed there was a listing in the startup folder thx for the help
