Solved: SBC Yahoo DSL Question

    Hey, I was thinking about getting SBC DSL for 14.99. The seed is said to be 384 Kbps to 1.5 Mbps. So does that mean I can have a range of 384 to 1.5Mbps?

    They only guarantee 384....really depends on how far you are from the their connection point.

    So is there anyway to find how close or far I am from their connection point?

    You can call your DSL tech support toll free number and ask.

    384 is quite low. You DO get what you pay for. See what they charge for 1.5 down/768 Up

    Skinny...I agree, But the farther you are away from the connection point, the slower the speed. They may have his modem capped and can increase it from there end if distance isn't the case. That's why I suggested that he give them a call.

    Some of the cable companies are advertising "high speed" broadband at 128 & 256k. :eek:
