I have an Hp Photosmart C7280 running via USB connection and wifi network on a Dell Precision 4300 Workstation running Windows XP. When I connected a new ScanSnap s1300i via USB, the ScanSnap was not recognized. I disconnected C7280 and rebooted Dell. The scansnap was recognized and operable. I reconnected the Hp and tried to print with no success. The scansnap stopped working as well. Should I connect these is a certain order? Can they both work connected to my Dell?

Have you tried different USB ports? Or downloading and installing the latest drivers for each device?

It's not a matter of connecting them in any order, it seems there is a compatibility issue between them.

    Triple6,
I updated drivers on Dell, Hp C7280 and Scansnap. That did the trick. Everything's working.
Thanks for you're help. This was much better than talking to each OEM's tech support.
