I think the solution to my problem is fairly simple, but I can't seem to find it in any forums on the web(probably because I don't have the lingo down).
So here we go: I've created a parking pass database for our organization. The primary key is attached to a 6-digit parking pass number. I want to create a search tool so our parking guys can enter the parking pass number and retrieve the corresponding form. The form has a nicer layout than the table, so I want to retrieve the form, which contains car description, owner, address, etc.
Is this possible?
Thanks in advance, you guys and gals are very helpful
Welcome to fantasy island (the forum) I am Ricardo Montabon and this is tattoo.
Have you looked into adding a command button to your that has the find feature associated with it? The command button wizard looks like a little push button in the toolbox.
Okay, I think I understand, but I may need a bit more guidance.
I'm in the design view, and I've opted for the command button. How do I set the properties so that Joe Parking Guy can input a 6 digit number and he will be able to retrieve the corresponding form?
Aye that is what I was trying to have you do but have it be in a button form instead of the hotkey. I personally use the hotkey all the time as well as CTRL+H which brings you into Find/Replace.
Can you please mark the thread as solved via the "Mark Solved" button at the top of the post?
Don't worry guys, I'll use the wizard, thanks anyways
