I have an Excel 2013 workbook with 26 sheets which include various business contacts. Each worksheet represents an alphabet letter and all columns for each sheet are identical (kind of a typical address book)

Is it possible to search the whole workbook for a particular contact or I have to search each sheet?

Just type Ctr + F
In the dialog box you press the button Options and there you can select Within: Sheet or Workbook
Depending on your criteria there are two checkboxes, Match Case and Match entire cell contents.
This speaks for itsself
