I've used Word Perfect for years and have relied on the capability of seeing the codes used to create the documents ("reveal codes" alt+F3). Can I do this in Word 2000 or Word 2003?Thanks.

Not directly (in Word 2000 anyway). I've heard of a third-party addon that will do what you want. Have you tried a Google search?

In Word 2003, there is an icon in the tool bar you click to show the formatting codes.

You can also set in on by default, from Tools > Options > "Formatting Marks" and Field Codes.

BUT, you should really get away from that dependence.

The reveal codes ability in Word is not a patch on what was available in WP, but I agree with the above, it is time to move on.

It was essential with the implementation of WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) in WP, but I now do not miss it or need it.
