    Been trying to network desk top w/ laptop. Using my D-Link router for internet connection so everthing is hard wired.
    The laptop sees the desktop but when I click the icon to access folders I get;
    Mshome not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permission.
    What do I do to fix this little problem?

    Uninstall or properly configure your 3rd party firewall. :)

    Or, you could tell us more information. Can you ping each PC from the other by IP address? By Computer Name? What OS(es)?

    So we don't assume too much, what do you mean by "sees the desktop"?
