My laptop keeps shuting down after about 30 minutes. I have done a spyware check, deleted what came up and it keeps doing it. I try and run a virus check, however, the computer shuts down before it can be completed. Any suggestions????????????

I presume that by "shutdown" we are talking about a sudden power off?

Most common cause for some laptops is an accumulation of dust in the fan, obstructing the aitflow, which causes the laptop to overheat and shutdown to prevent damage.

A can of "compressed air" that you can purchase at most computer parts stores is a good remedy, blast it into the fan outlet port.

Mentioning the laptop make and model would help, some are very prone to this.
