    Hello
I use simple mail with firefox, which is the closest to outlook express that can be used with windows 7.
Does anyone know where is the address book in that not so simple mail program.
    Thank you.

Probably have to contact Simple Mail for an answer.

I don't know if your statement is correct or not, however, full featured
Simple Mail costs money for a license. Unless, I missed something?

Windows Live Mail does not, it is free and very similar to OE.
Thunderbird is also free and very similar to OE.

    Hello
    Thanks for the answer.
What I didn't like about windows live is that when I wnated to see What I had in a certain folder, for example the spam,it tried to download all the emails in that folder.I have an account with gmail and it keeps all the mail I have seen in a folder called trash and all the mail I have sent in ( all mail ).I did not want to keep all these emails on my computer. With simple mail, all it does is show me the titles and who they come from.

Is your Gmail setup as an IMAP account? Or POP3?

If you already have Simple Mail and like it, then by
    all means, continue using it.
    I am using Windows
Mail which is on Vista and am unfamiliar with details of
Windows Live Mail or Thunderbird. However to see
what new mail all my email accounts have, I use POP
    Peeper. Email notification freeware program.

It sits in the system tray and check all my accounts
at a time interval I set and shows me header information
for all the accounts. Does not download emails. Mine
are all POP3 accounts. You would be using the
standard contacts (address book) for Windows Live Mail
or Thunderbird. You can use this in conjuction with any
email client - it runs independently of the client.

If you feel like taking a look at it,

    POP Peeper - Email Notification:
