    Hi,

I have been following another thread and used some of the suggestions of the responder to help clean my hard drive and hopefully speed up my system. All seems clean now but computer is still slow. Can you let me know if I have any spyware/ malware running? I seem to have many applications running on start up but do not know what ones to turn off.

    So far I have completed:
AVG system scan while in safe mode-Unfortunately do not have the log file.
SuperAntiSpyware - Scan for Cookies and Terminate Memory Threads checked
SmitfraudFix while in safe mode Option #2-

    Logs below
    Thank you for your help

    Hi, Welcome to TSG!!

Run HJT again and put a check in the following:

    O3 - Toolbar: MSN Search Toolbar - {BDAD1DAD-C946-4A17-ADC1-64B5B4FF55D0} - (no file)

Close all applications and browser windows before you click "fix checked".

Looks fine. I think all of that AOL stuff really slows up the machine.

    You're welcome!

Here are some optional items you can remove from startup.

Click Start - Run, type in MSCONFIG, then click OK - "Startup" tab. Remove the checkmark from:

    igfxtray igfxtray.exe

    igfxhkcmd hkcmd.exe

    igfxpers igfxpers.exe

    SunJavaUpdateSched jusched.exe

    QuickTime Task qttask.exe

    Adobe Reader Speed Launcher Reader_sl.exe

    Microsoft Office OSA9.EXE

Click Apply - OK afterwards, then reboot. When the SCU window appears during reboot, ignore the message. Place a checkmark in the window, then click OK.
