after installing software needed to remote access hospital, (ICA32, aventail) started to get blue screen of death.
i disabled aventail automatically running at start up. still got blue screen.
i restarted with last known good configuration and so far no blue screen.
still, the restart takes too long (predates blue screen) so i wonder if you'd look at this Hijack log and make some suggestions.
    much thanks:)

unfortunately, i am getting blue screen late almost at very end of loading processes. just not each time. i had to restart 3 times to get back up and running.
    the sequence is:
    windows is up.
    spysweeper sweeps.
    AIM loads.
    all looks good....then blue screen!
    hope this helps
    thanks

Well first of all, have you tried running System Restore and returning to a calendar date before you installed this software?

Start > Run: msconfig > Launch System Restore.

Also, after doing this, run HijackThis and check and fix these items:

    O20 - Winlogon Notify: pmnli - pmnli.dll (file missing)
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: vturr - C:\WINDOWS\system32\vturr.dll (file missing)

You may have a "winfixer" infection still. Post a new HijackThis scanlog after doing that.

Scanlog looks clean, but you can check and fix this for housekeeping:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [UserFaultCheck] %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -u

It's put there after blue screens and serves no useful purpose.

    Any persistant problems?

If you are still having slow startups, this might be helped by disabling unnecessary starting programs in msconfig > startup tab such as Quicktime, Adobe Reader, and TrueAssistant ...

By the way HijackThis should be moved to a permanent location, such as in My Documents. That way you will be assured of preserving backups of any "fixed" entries should you ever want to restore one.
