Solved: SOLVED:Vista SP1 install failure

    I posted here last week asking for help with SP1 install failure. The problem (for my system) wasn't with SP1 ( well it was kind of ) but was caused by McAfee running on my system. I had to completely uninstall the McAfee software before running SP1 installation. It then installed correctly. Another thing some folks have tried is to run SP1 install from safe mode. ( I haven't tried this because I used the McAfee solution.)

    You should post this to your thread, not create a new thread.

    It is usually advised to disable anti virus programs prior to installing any program ;)
