Alright I have some sort of program that's embeded itself somewhere on my Windows XP system but I can't find it. Spybot and Ad-Aware can't see it and PC-Cillin virus scan comes back negative. I can't find anything bad in the running processes nor do I have any annoying popups to point me in the right direction. All I have to go on are two constant errors.

The first one happens when I try to get into a secure site like Yahoo mail or Netflix. I get a screen that comes back looking like this
http://www.geocities.com/aeuzent/error.jpg
The images wont load and sometimes the text align is way out there as you can see in Netflix
http://www.geocities.com/aeuzent/error3.jpg

The second problem I get is any time I try to use a search engine the only returns I'll get will be ads, no matter how obvious the search is.
Here is a list of results I got on a Google search for "Mplayer"
http://www.geocities.com/aeuzent/error2.jpg
As most of you know 90% of that should be links to linux sites.

This problem is not browser specific and comes up wether I use Firefox or IE.

Hi, Please post a Hijackthis log:

Byteman said:
Hi, Would like to have you post a log from HijackThis, a program (very tiny) that we use to see what problems exist.

There are directions here to do it: There are .zip form and .exe form, take your pick.

Download it here:

http://radiosplace.com/

Or here.

It's a direct download so be ready with the folder for it.

Basically, you create a new folder, the desktop is OK provided you make a folder, name it something like HJT, and download TO that folder, run hijackthis.exe from there. If there are users of the computer who might start HJT and use it, hide the program in a folder elsewhere!

When it is done scanning> the Save log button will become available, save the log as hijackthis.txt which will open with Notepad. Go back to TSG, open your post, and copy and paste the entire logfile into a reply in your thread (here) and wait for advice.

Please do NOT use HJT yourself to remove anything> There are some cases where other steps are taken!

http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm

Launch the application, and click the "I know what I'm doing" checkbox.

Check all instances of fltmgr.dll (and nothing else), and move them to
the "Remove" pane.
Then click Finish.

Restart in safe mode

Now delete the C:\windows\system32\fltmgr.dlll--> file

Reboot. Post a new log

Hi, Also> when and if you have to fix anything using Hijackthis, be sure to temporarily turn off SpyBot's TeaTimer, as it can interfere with making changes you need to.
Before you do anything with Hijackthis, other than just scan and save a log>
right click on the TeaTimer resident icon in the lower right taskbar. Click exit. Proceed with what you need to do.

Turn TeaTimer back on... this got boring so I just don't use it. It does protect your Registry....I'm not saying you should not use it.
