Solved: Sound Drivers for Realtek AC'97 Audio

    Can anyone direct me with a link to downloads for the latest drivers for this sound card?

    Did you get a cd with the motherboard? If so, use that....if not, a visit to the motherboard manufacturer's website is in order.

    FWIW realtek usually has much newer audio drivers than the mb site. When I do an install I usually go to realtek's site and download the newest driver. As an example epox's site has ver 1.40 for my board. On Realtek's site it is up to ver 1.51.

    Depends on the operating system ;) I've had bad luck with Windows 98 and the newer drivers...........

    which one do i download. i run windows but there's so many options o_O

    That depends on what os you are running. There are two different files for win9x, xp, 2k. If you look one is a zip and one is a .exe type file. I would go for the .exe since it does not require anything to decompress the file.

    Note you can also download the driver from the site of your board mfg, however these drivers are generally newer. As Candy points out, newer is not always the best.

    didnt really have a problem, i just hadn't updated them since i got the computer (almost a year now)
