Solved: Sound problem

    I have just updated my computer from xp home to pro, and now my speakers do not work??? They are plugged in the front through the head phone port. When i go to my control panel/sounds and audio devices it says no audio device??? any help or advice would be a great help and thanks in advance :confused:

    I would download the latest drivers and give that a go.....even if nothing out of order in Device Manager...

    you need to install your motherboard drivers or soundcard drivers
    again. when you updated your operating system it got rid of
    the drivers for the sound.

    the motherboard or soundcard would have come with a cd
    which will contain drivers. run the installation from those cd(s).

    i dont have any cd's with my computer???? they are just dell speakers that plug in the head phone port. how can i install these drivers ???

    go to manufacturer of the pc you are using (dell, hp, etc) and go to the download section and download new motherboard/chipset drivers. Easy as cake.

    thanks, i got it done i needed to download and install SIGMATEL STAC 92XX C-Major HD Audio. Now everything works just fine.. Many thanks for your help
