Hi. I`m looking for downloadable service packs for Win 98SE. I can`t find them anywhere. The only ones available are "unofficial". I would prefer Microsoft service packs. Has anyone got them????
    Hope someone can help.

windows 98 is totally unsupported now & you won't find any legal downloads of it or any updates to it at all

Microsoft never released any official service pack(s) for Windows 98SE or Windows ME.

I'm guessing you've already been to this site. It's been many years since I used it.

Thank you all for replying. I know there`s no support for Win 98SE anymore. I just thought that someone might have some 98SE files to update mine to. Hope you are all well and again, Thanks.

When theres no more support for an operating system theres nothing more that can be updated.it can still be used if you wish.

Once again thanks to you all for replying. Looks like i`m not going to get anything for Win98SE. I have tried 2 different files to update IE5 to IE6 but when i run IE6 after the install it just keeps jamming up.
Also, with outlook express 6 or 5 i can recieve emails but can`t send. It`s most disheartening.
I tried Win 2000 but that was just the same. Looks like i`m back to good ol` Win XP.
Thanks all!! Best wishes to you all.

I haven't used Windows 98SE or Windows ME in several years, but I never had a problem with upgrading Internet Explorer to 6.0 SP1 - the most current version it'll accept.
