Little boy! I think there is a good possibility that something sticky got into your keyboard. Juice perhaps?

Take out the key and clean it.

Is this a laptop or a desktop PC? If it's a desktop and the above solution doesn't work, a new keyboard comes pretty cheap. You can also try it on another computer just to be sure.

Is the spacebar behaving the same in whatever application you run?

Click on Start, Run and type cmd.

Try your spacebar in the DOS window.

Did you check all other keys to see if the spacebar is the only one not working?

    Try the following:

Click on Start, Settings, Control Panel > Accessibility Options >
Keyboard tab > uncheck the "Use FilterKeys" and "Use StickyKeys" boxes.

If none of the above works, as a workaround, you can use the On-Screen Keyboard, at least for the spacebar.

    Click on Start > Programs > Accessories > Accessibility > On-Screen Keyboard.
