    I just connected my speakers.

I'm able to hear sound but it's very low (even when I turned the dial on the speaker clockwise to highest setting)

    I haven't a clue what to do.

    In CONTROL PANEL:
Sounds & Audio Devices tab -
I set speaker volume to highest setting - yet it still sounds low.

Plug in the speakers. Most likely the cause. Most sound cards need amplified speakers.

If the speakers don't have a jack, you'll need to get new ones.

Thanks - now it's working loud & clear!

Boy am I dumb sometimes. In fact when I googled for these instructions, they also used the term "plug in" (but I was thinking in terms of the JACK vs. DC.

This time, I finally noticed the DC socket in back of the speaker. ;)
