I run 2 pc`s via a router, one is connected to the router via an ethernet cable and the other is wireless via a usb wireless antenna. The speed of the wireless is 11Mbps. This has always been plenty fast enough, I am on a 3meg cable modem connection. For some reason the speed on the wireless pc is really slow, this only started yesterday. I have done speed checks and the pc that is wired to the router is fine, getting nearly max d/l results. On the other 1 the speeds are betweeen 15 and 30 Kbps, can anyone please help me. It is an actiontec router and according to the network connection the strength is excellent and speed is 11 Mbps. I have run adaware, spybot, Mcafee virus and spysweeper but I am still having trouble.

I'd be looking for some interference with the signal. Of course, there could also be someone else connecting and "sharing" your bandwidth. :) Check the router's status and see if there is more than one wireless connection.

Thanks for the reply, can`t find any interference with signal, strength is excellent. Have checked status but not too sure what I am looking for. When both pc`s are off the modem is idle, so I don`t think that anyone is logged on to me, but I cannot be sure,
