Simply put.....Do online speed test services (i.e., Ookla) measure speeds between the target (city) and the customer's computer or the customer's ISP computer? If it's the ISP's computer then what, if any, is the value of the speed test results to us?.......Unless the speed rate is guaranteed to continue through to the customer computer, but I don't think it is.

    Thanks for looking

it is your computer that is tested or to be more accurate the connection speed between your computer and the target server

I recently had a Comcast tech tell me that it went to the Comcast server, so it's left me a bit confused, but I suspect you're correct or else there'd be no purpose to testing.

It tests the route between your computer and the test site. If you are connected via Comcast then the route via Comcast is tested. If you could VPN direct to the test site without going via your ISP then that is what it would test.
