Solved: Split payment formula in Excel needed

    I would like to know if it is possible to have a formula to do the following:

    A3=2000 claim for damage on a vehicle
    B3=1000 lien balance................

    need an equation to display split payments for the following below:

    C3=1000 payable to lien holder
    D3=1000 payable to vehicle owner for remaining equity

    I would also like to include the following formula to the equation above:

    A3=1000 claim damage on vehicle
    B3=2000 lien balance..................

    Equation is as follows:

    C3=1000 owed to the lien
    D3=0 No equity owed to the owner as they are upside down


    Hope I have made it clear........

    Yes, it is possible if I understand your requirements correctly.

    Will the attached sheet do what you want? I did a few rows with different amounts to test the formulas. I also added a comment column. The sheet has locked cells except for the claim and lien balance entries and is protected without any password
