Their web site says the Premium edition tackles spyware. But made no mention of malware. Lots of people use MalwareBytes against malware. They have a free edition with no real-time monitoring.

A common malware type nowadays is those fake antivirus programs. It installs on your PC and tells you of non-existent infections. Some will even stop you from surfing to real antivirus program sites. And some stops you from running any programs, saying they are infected. The program then asks you to pay them to fix the 'infections'.

Another malware type are those that steal your bank account numbers and credit card numbers. They wait till you go to a bank or an online shopping site and captures what you enter. Then they send the data back to a server controlled by the hackers.

MalwareBytes have a pretty good reputation around here. The free version lacks real-time protection. So I think the paid version will prevent bad stuff from installing, but I don't have the paid version, so I don't know for sure.
