Hi,

I've been trying for hours to remove some spyware from my PC to no avail. I have done AdAware Spybot and Pest Patrol scans and Im still having problems getting rid of the ABI NETWORK and all these popups I keep getting from AURORA (PART OF ABI NETWORK). Im desperately in need of your help..I have attached a current hijack scan. Thank you so much for your time and help....its greatly appreciated.

* Now copy these instructions to notepad and save them to your desktop. You
will need them to refer to in safe mode.

* Restart your computer into safe mode now. Perform the following steps in
safe mode:

have hijack this fix these entries. close all browsers and programmes before

In the Full Path of File to Delete box, copy and paste each of the following
lines one at a time then click on the button that has the red circle with the

delete the file. Click Yes. Continue with that same procedure until you have
copied and pasted all of these in the Paste Full Path of File to Delete box.

Note: It is possible that Killbox will tell you that one or more files do not
exist. If that happens, just continue on with all the files. Be sure you
don't miss any.

Hi again,

I followed your instructions, however when I got to this point "* Once in Safe Mode, double-click on Nailfix.cmd. Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal. I wasnt able to locate any Nailfix.cmd and after doing a system file search and finding no files I skipped this step and went on to follow the rest of your instructions. Below are the results of the latest HIJACK THIS and EWIDO logs.

Thank you again for all your help and time...I appreciate it very much :)

did you actually donwload it? You should download it to your desktop! Ah, I edited it out of my post to you, my mistake, sorry about that!

How's your computer running anyway, is it better now?

well everything seems to have went ok, but no mention of nail.exe in the ewido log.

boot to safe mode and run this to clean up your reg and fix it.

Download the Nail/aurora fix

http://www.noidea.us/easyfile/index.php?folder=2

boot back to normal mode and tun this tool, you seem to have the beginnings of the qoologic infection?
download FindQoologic-Narrator.zip save it to your Desktop.

http://forums.net-integration.net/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=134981

Extract (unzip) the files inside into their own folder called FindQoologic.
Open the FindQoologic folder.
Locate and double-click the Find-Qoologic.bat file to run it.
Wait until a text opens, post it in a reply to your thread.

you might find you get an error message when first running this file, if so
close it & run again and wait until file.txt opens on desktop.

Ignore the first list that opens with a long list of files and wait for FILE.
TXT to pop up.

post another hijack this log and the qoologic log

It normally takes somewhere between 10 to 15 minutes depending on your
computer so don't panic if it takes some time.

how's your computer running now, has the popups gone?

Nearly there.

have hijack this fix this one.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [winsync] C:\WINDOWS\system32\jbobjb.exe reg_run

Double-click on Killbox.exe to run it. Now put a tick by Standard File Kill.
In the Full Path of File to Delete box, copy and paste each of the following
lines one at a time then click on the button that has the red circle with the
X in the middle after you enter each file. It will ask for confirmation to
delete the file. Click Yes. Continue with that same procedure until you have
copied and pasted all of these in the Paste Full Path of File to Delete box.

Note: It is possible that Killbox will tell you that one or more files do not
exist. If that happens, just continue on with all the files. Be sure you
don't miss any.

C:\WINDOWS\System32\DHLHDHA.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\System32\JABAJ.DLL
C:\docume~1\alluse~1\startm~1\programs\startup\NITI.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\system32\jbobjb.exe

Run ActiveScan online virus scan here

http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/

When the scan is finished, anything that it cannot clean have it delete it.
Make a note of the file location of anything that cannot be deleted so you
can delete it yourself.
- Save the results from the scan!

post another log and the active scan log

Don't worry, most of this is leftovers, many other scanners won't even report most of this stuff!

run ccleaner again.
empty the recycle bin.

navigate to the C:\Windows\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and
go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of
the Temp folder.

Go to Start > Run and type %temp% in the Run box. The Temp folder will open.
Click Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of
the Temp folder.

Finally go to Control Panel > Internet Options. On the General tab under
"Temporary Internet Files" Click "Delete Files". Put a check by "Delete
Offline Content" and click OK. Click on the Programs tab then click the
"Reset Web Settings" button. Click Apply then OK.

C:\WINDOWS\cfgmgr52.ini
C:\WINDOWS\EliteToolBar
C:\WINDOWS\system32\pkvkp.dat
C:\WINDOWS\system32\temperror32.dat

Find and delete these if there!

Because XP will not always show you hidden files and folders by default,
Go to Start > Search and under "More advanced search options".
Make sure there is a check by "Search System Folders" and "Search hidden
files and folders" and "Search system subfolders"

Next click on My Computer. Go to Tools > Folder Options. Click on the View
tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also
uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and "Hide extensions for
known file types" . Now click "Apply to all folders"
Click "Apply" then "OK"

clean log.

When was the last time you did a disc defrag?

Have you recently installed XpSP2?

you could also clean off all those 016s, the legitimate ones and the ones you want to use will ask to come back!

If you ant to, you could run another anti virus scan this time with Kaspersky, more thorough and usually a longer scan?

Run an online antivirus check from

http://www.kaspersky.com/beta?product=161744315

you will need to input a name
and email adress but anyone will do & then acccept an active X control IT IS
SAFE to do so LET IT FIX WHATEVER IT FINDS

Run ccleaner again.

you should now turn off system restore to flush out the bad restore points and
then re-enable it and make a new clean restore point.

How to turn off system restore

here's some free tools to keep you from getting infected in the future.

to stop reinfection get these two tools, spywareguard and spywareblaster
from

www.javacoolsoftware.com

get the hosts file from here.

put it into :

Windows XP = C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
Windows 2K = C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
Win 98\ME = C:\WINDOWS

http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm

ie-spyad.Puts over 5000 sites in your restricted zone so you'll be protected

when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all.

https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/ehowes/www/resource.htm

http://www.winpatrol.com/winpatrol.html

prevX: it stops spyware

http://www.prevx.com/prevxhome.asp

Use spybot's immunize button and use spywareblaster' enable
protection once you update it. you can put spybot's hosts file into
your own and lock it. Plus you can also turn on spybot's tea timer
for added protection against pests.

I would also suggest switching to Mozilla's firefox browser, it's safer, has a built in pop up blocker, blocks cookies and adds.
