I read several of the threads concerning re-occuring virus/spyware/worm/malware issues. I downloaded ewido and hijackthis and ran them and the system seemed good until I logged onto the internet. Then it comes back. I am running Windows XP home edition and internet explorer. Here is the hijackthis log:

One more thing that I noticed; Hedgie keeps poping up. I deleted the file and removed it from the recycle bin. I disabled system restore. It isn't showing up in the task manager anymore, but it still shows up in the hijackthis log. I cannot seem to get rid of this file.

    Welcome to TSG :)

How come there are no Service Packs installed?

    Run ActiveScan online virus scan:
    http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan.htm

When the scan is finished, anything that it cannot clean have it delete it.
Make a note of the file location of anything that cannot be deleted so you can delete it yourself.
Save the results from the scan and post them here.

I can't run the Panda Activescan. I've tried several times and each time I get to the screen to scan and select to scan My Computer, nothing happens except in the status bar it says "Error on page". Is there anything else I could try?

    Try this one...

Run Kaspersky online virus scan here: http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

When the scan is finished, it usually does not give you any option to clean them.
Save the results from the scan and post them here.

The system seems to be running better. I went ahead and installed the windows updates last night as well. Thanks for your help!

    You're welcome

    Now turn off System Restore:

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
    Click Properties.
    Click the System Restore tab.
    Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Restart your computer, turn System Restore back on and create a restore point.

    To create a restore point:

Single-click Start and point to All Programs.
Mouse over Accessories, then System Tools, and select System Restore.
In the System Restore wizard, select the box next the text labeled "Create a restore point" and click the Next button.
Type a description for your new restore point. Something like "After trojan/spyware cleanup". Click Create and you're done.

You can mark your thread "Solved" from the Thread Tools drop down menu.
