After reinstalling Windows Vista OS 64bit on my Dell Studio XPS 1640, I reinstalled all the drivers that were on the resource CD that I ordered from Dell. On my device manager there is still a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark next to Standard VGA Graphics adapter. I used to be able to use 1920x1080 screen resolution; however, the highest option now is currently 1400x1050 pixels and it reads default monitor on display settings instead of having HD Radeon 4670 option as it did before. My graphics card is a radeon HD 4670. Could anyone possibly tell me what drivers I would need to download and install in order to get my screen resolution back to 1920x1080 and resolve the VGA adapter problem? I have gone to the dell driver website and called them on the phone but I can not seem to resolve this. I don't know if I need to turn something off or disable a driver to make this work, I'm at a loss and quickly getting tired of Dell. I followed the links from Triple6 back in Aug 2010 and it hasn't helped. Thank you for your help.

The Dell support site doesn't list a "1640" for the Dell Studio XPS desktops and laptops.

What's the 7-character "service tag" number on the sticker?

According to service tag number GBFV7K1, you have a Dell Studio XPS 16 laptop.

Here is the Dell support and downloads site for it.

I suggest you add and save this site your browser favorites/bookmarks list so you can readily refer to it when needed.

If you click the "Drivers & Downloads" tab, then select "All related drivers for your product", then select "Microsoft Windows Vista 64-bit", the list of device drivers will appear.

The AMD ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450/HD 3670/HD 4670 (R227577.exe) graphics driver is what you appear to need.
