I just noticed my start menu is acting a way I've never seen before. Instead of automatically unfold as usual, I see a partial vue (only a few programs) and I have to click on an arrow to make it unfold completely. Is that supposed to be this way (because I'm using XP Pro SP2 for the first time and SP1 was different)? Is there a function you have to deactivate or activate?

    Thanks

Right click the Start button, select Properties, click Customize, under the Advanced tab clear the checkmark from the option "Scroll Programs".

The option "Scroll Programs" is unchecked. That's what I don't understand!

Ok, now it's fine. But I hadn't touched it before. What the hell happenned! Sorry for the trouble. My mistake. I thought I had damaged something while installing or uninstalling software.

    Thank you

    Thanks.

That setting is supposed to make things easier by showing only the most used apps and hiding the rest. So it changes according to your use. But I just find it annoying that I have to go through that extra step to open something. Besides, I have so many programs that I don't always know right away which one I want to use until I actually see the title of it. :D

Here's a nifty little tool that I find quite handy.
All it really is, is a shell extension, but it's a TOO COOL TOOL.

It's called The Wonderful Icon, and it works with anything
from Windows 95 onward to XP. Sadly, Vista support is weak,
and the developer can't afford new hardware right now.
Incidentally, this isn't a plug for donations, just for a darn good
    little piece of software.

I am in no way affiliated with the developer; except for I am just a fan.
