On the log on page where I get to choose who is to log onto the computer, under my logon it states that I have 1 new message in a hotmail account. I think this might be a problem linked with Outlook but if not I apologise for putting it here. When i look at the email account in hotmail there is no mail there. How can I delete this account from showing up as I do not really use the hotmail account any more.

On a more general note also, where can I find basic setup details so that I can run my Gmail account through Outlook.

    Many thanks.

    Hi Platti

Welcome to Tech Support Guy Forums!

You can find the instructions for setting up POP Forwarding for Gmail at Gmail's page under: Settings > Forwarding and POP

    http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
Scroll down to line 100 to download the reg fix which should remove the Unread Mail Count on the Welcome screen.

Let us know if that helps.
