I am running XP Home sp2 om a Compaq presario w/ a celeron processor 2800 Mhz w/ 512 RAM. 1st I want to know how to stop IE 6 from loading every time I start windows. 2nd (and probably more complicated) is my CD-RW drive stopped writing. It reads data & music files but won't write. I've been to Sony's web site and downloaded a utility to analyze the drive but it could not tell me what the problem is. The drive is a Sony CRX215E5 model. Any ideas. Thanks!

    Hi Welcome to TSG!!

    Look here: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup for a short-cut to IE. If it's there delete it.

go to: START>>RUN>>type in "msconfig" without the quotes, and click OK.

Click on the STARTUP tab and look for "Internet Explorer" or "iexplore.exe"

    If it's there, uncheck it.
