I recently replaced this mobo with a used one and have a new HD. I never set any passwords on it as I am the only one with access. Yesterday I was going through the user guide and following the supervisor password setup I found that a supervisor password was already present.
I tried toshiba as a default but I think its probebly from the person who had the boiard originally.

What are my options to resolve this? I'd like to feel comfortable about my machine. Contacting the seller occurs to me. Nothing else.

You are referring to the BIOS password. You should have a CLEAR CMOS jumper on the motherboard or just pull the battery from the motherboard and it will clear it out.

I don't want help cracking it. I am seeking information about how these things are handled. I am not the only legit person to have this password problem, some methods for handling it must already be established.

EDIT The ebay mobo sellers email was dead, so I went to her page and messaged her through ebay.

Toshiba says its a covered BIOS issue even though I'm out of warranty. I'll be sending it in as soon as I get the box.
