svchost.exe is using over 100,000k memory usage. This freezes up my computer.
Does anyone know how to fix this memory leak?

Thank you in advance to anybody that can help.

It's not a problem or a memory leak. It's a normal system process using a normal amount of resources. If your computer is locking up, you have another problem. Post more details to get help.

What's the processor type and speed?

    How much RAM is installed?

What's the hard drive capacity and how much free space does it have?

Go to Start - Run - MSCONFIG - OK - "Startup" tab. How many entries are checked?

Go to Start - Run - SERVICES.MSC - OK. How many entries are set on Automatic?

Among other reasons, these are some of the reasons why your computer can run slow or freeze up.

If it just 15% on CPU .... then the freeze may not cause by that svchost.exe.... Take a look when the computer slow which process use most of the cpu power.
