Solved: svchost.exe using memory

    Since I booted up today, I've noticed one of the svchost.exe processes is constantly using around 50% of the CPU (see screenshot of Task Manager). Should I be concerned? If so, what should I do?

    It eventually stopped, but now my SearchFilter Host, Search Indexer and Search Protocol Host have been running for 2 hours.

    Everything has calmed down for now. I just think maybe it had to do with the huge Microsoft update today.

    Yes it did rather interrupt things.


    I lost a whole days work time because it took so long.
