Hi :)

Someone/thing has been scanning this computer yesterday and today, as shown by Sygate Firewall.
The message:
Somebody is scanning your computer.
Your computer's UDP ports:
1027, 2, 1032, and 1035 have been scanned from 61.152.158.125..

I did a "back trace" and this is what it found:

Is this safe or what? If it is safe, is there something I can check/uncheck so that I don't keep getting the pop up warning from Sygate? I am fairly computer illerate, so please respond in easy to understand language. ;)

Thanks very much in advance

Hey Matt! :)

How can you say you're computer illiterate after all we went through? :D

Do NOT allow that portscan access.

Unfortunately, I don't use Sygate so I'm not familiar with the settings but there should be a setting somewhere that you can tell it to block these things without alerting you so it can do its job quietly.

Hey Cookiegal :)

Umm yeah   :D Thank you for answering (y)
I'm still learning basic stuff though ;)
I think it's just telling me something/one is trying to have a look. I don't do anything. I think I will leave it alone, until Mom has a look in a day or so.
I did do all the Shields Up tests this morning, and passed them, so I think we're OK :) I'll mark this solved for now.

Is it hot where you are? We're having record temps of like 43C with the humidex. I wish we had air conditioning, but I'm going to the beach later, today

Take care and have a very nice weekend. :D

Matt

Portscans happen all the time. They are looking for ports that are open to load their nasty stuff.

It is really hot here too. Thank goodness for A/C in the house, in the car, at work.... now if I could only get A/C outside. :D

LOL yeah...Mom sometimes wears one of those goofy hats with a mini fan on the front so she can work in the garden for more than 10 minutes at a time. She looks pretty silly, :p but at least she's having some fun (y) :D

See you later, Cookiegal :) and thanks again
