Hi All, My Syncmaster 910T monitor is showing the adjustment box for brightness on the screen all the time. Occasionally I can get it to turn off by holding the Auto button in for a few seconds but it comes back on again.

This is making it difficult to work properly is there a solution other than replacing the monitor?

Thanks.

The button's not stuck, is it? Try pressing the buttons and be sure you can either hear a faint click or feel a tactile response from each, especially the 3rd button from the left, the dedicated brightness button. It may be mechanically or electrically "stuck".

No all the buttons feel ok. Sometimes holding the third button in for a few seconds stops the brightness one coming back on, but not for long.

I have solved it now by sellotaping the 3rd button in the pushed in position and so far (after a few hours) the brightness adjustment box hasn't appeared on the screen again.

That indicates it is most likely a problem with the switch itself. Unless you want to get inside of the case and try to replace it (and good luck finding a replacement), you may have your "permanent" solution. ;-)
