Was wanting to know, as I have come across many who know, but what is the best way to remove entries from the start up folder in system conf. utility ? Have some entries I know belong to programs that no longer are hanging around .

"Run, msconfig,OK,Startup" and uncheck whatever you know is no longer there, hit apply and then reboot!

Click Start - Run, type in MSCONFIG and then click OK - "Startup" tab.

Remove the checkmark from the entries that you select.

Click Apply - OK, then restart.

When the SCU window appears during restart, place a checkmark in it and then click OK.

This site will be helpful to you in unchecking entries to currently installed programs that don't need to run in the background.
