Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.2
OS Version: Microsoft Windows 8.1, 64 bit
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU 2020M @ 2.40GHz, Intel64 Family 6 Model 58 Stepping 9
Processor Count: 2
RAM: 12167 Mb
Graphics Card: Intel(R) HD Graphics, -1984 Mb

Motherboard: TOSHIBA, Portable PC
Antivirus: Windows Defender, Enabled

System Restore isn't working. I get an error message in the event log:

"C:\Windows\system32\SystemPropertiesProtection.exe

What does this mean? How can I fix it?

Please post the exact error message from the Event Viewer.

Also, have you checked services.msc to see if the Volume Shadow Copy Service is set to manual and not disabled?

That is the exact error message - I cut and pasted it directly from the Event Viewer.

Volume Shadow Copy Service is set to Manual.

There should be more to the error than that. Is is under Application or System?

Double-click the error to open it and then click on the copy button and paste it here.

Never mind - I figured it out. The COM+ Event System service was inadvertently disabled when I was doing some tweaking. I reset it to Automatic and all is well.
