    That is an old HJT

    SpywareBlaster http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
    AdAware SE http://www.majorgeeks.com/download506.html
    SpyBot S&D http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/

DL them (they are free), install them, check each for their definition updates and then run AdAware and Spybot, fixing anything they say.

Do these before the next step.

Then get the current HiJack This http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html,
put it in a permanent folder, run it , DO NOT fix anything, post the log here.

Based on a cursory Google search, this appears to be the bugger:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Real Internet Player] REAIPLAY.EXE
    O4 - HKCU\..\RunOnce: [Real Internet Player] REAIPLAY.EXE

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\REAIPLAY.EXE

    http://www.google.com/search?q=REAIPLAY.EXE&sourceid=opera&num=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

If you have trouble deleting it, fix the entry in HijackThis and use the Killbox to delete the file. To use the Killbox, run it and paste the full path:

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\REAIPLAY.EXE

in the "file to be deleted" field. Check "end explorer" and "delete file on reboot".

Have all programs closed and be prepared to restart when you press the Red X

I am having a similar problem. Every time I hit ctrl alt delete for my task manager to come up, it opens and then it disappears. There is a little icon in my tray that says it is open but you cannot access the task manager. It is the weirdest thing. The task manager opens and then closes. If I am understanding this correctly, is this the solution for it.

Good to hear and I'll mark the thread "Solved".

alpac, post a NEW topic in the Security forum (best for these) and include a HijackThis scanlog using the latest version.
