I am trying to make the Task Scheduler on my computer running XP to do a shutdown every night at 2AM. I have followed instructions on the web that I have found and I can't seem to get it to work. I am adding the following command line parameters:
-s -t 60 -c “Daily Shutdown” -f

So the whole run command looks like this:
C:\Windows\system32\shutdown.exe -s -t 60 -c “Daily Shutdown” -f

The -s stands for “Shutdown the computer”. The -t 60 stands for “Set timeout for shudown to xx seconds. The -c stands “Shutdown comment” which shows up on the screen when the PC is shutting down. And finally the -f stands for “Forces running applications to close without warning”.

I have the task set to execute at 2AM everyday, but everyday I wake up and the computer is still on!

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?? Can't get it to work.
Thanks, Joe

Thanks, I got it working, I went back on my machine and looked, somehow I was missing the "-c" and it was stopping the whole command from running.

Thanks, Joe
