    Hey, all,

I'm having problems with the High Definition Audio devices on this machine. When I did a clean install of Visat X64 a few weeks ago, two identical "high definition device" listings showed up in Device Manager.

I went to Toshiba website and downloaded the driver for this device and still I have no sound. I understand it's an issue with this particular laptop but am stumped on how to solve it.

I'll include the Hijack This log and any guidance you could offer would be greatly appreciated as always!

    Thanks in advance!

    MK

Did you make a typo on the model number?

I couldn't find model number A505-S6909 at the United States site.

    What country are you in?

Here is the support and downloads site for the Toshiba Satellite A505-S6960 laptop.

The Realtek high definition audio driver listed there is version 6.0.1.5809 and is outdated.

The most current version is 6.0.1.6662.

Click one of the "Download @ MajorGeeks" links to download and save it.

After it's downloaded and saved, close all open windows first, then double-click it to start the install process.

Read each window carefully that appears during the install process.

I have no idea how but the sound started working mysteriously. Windows at its best.

    Thanks for the help, flavallee!
